Lead, Drive, & Thrive Together

Board - Vice President

Join Our Team

The Board Vice President supports effective governance, leadership continuity, and strategic oversight for NMRC. This role works in close partnership with the Board President and other officers to ensure the Board functions cohesively, ethically, and in alignment with the organization’s mission and values.

The Vice President helps maintain strong Board operations by supporting meeting facilitation, committee coordination, and leadership development. When necessary, this role steps in for the Board President to lead meetings or represent the Board, ensuring continuity and stability in governance.

Key Responsibilities include assisting with Board leadership and officer coordination; supporting strategic planning and organizational oversight; participating in Board development, recruitment, and engagement efforts; and serving as a collaborative thought partner to both the Board and executive leadership. The Vice President may also chair or support committees and help ensure accountability to governance best practices.

Ideal candidates bring prior leadership, governance, or board experience, along with strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills. A strategic mindset, sound judgment, and the ability to balance oversight with support are essential. This role is well suited for someone interested in deeper board leadership and potential advancement into senior officer roles.

The Vice President role requires participation in monthly Board meetings, with occasional additional time commitments related to committees, planning, or leadership support. This is a governance role focused on oversight, strategy, and Board effectiveness—not day-to-day operations.
